is fast becoming my preferred method of blogging. Technically its not REALLY a blog, but microblogging is such a convenient thing to have. The whole idea of shrinking everything to roughly 160 characters makes it so easy. And given my short attention spans, it totally works for me! haha.

been a while
It's been hectic at work. I haven't had the time to blog an entry at all. Time's are tough, thinking that mid-way through the year and I feel the time-crunch already. Projects are flying left and right and its pretty much imperative everything starts falling into place.
I can't believe I have not watched G.I. Joe yet. It's like... a mortal sin for a geek like me! But that is the case, but hopefully I catch within the next few days. Lots of big movies coming out, like Up and the Hangover. Sadly, District 9 doesn't look to be coming out in Manila anytime soon, but I am definitely looking forward to watching that. It's got that alien segregation premise that is such a big thing nowadays with all the racism that we see across the globe. Taking that to a science fiction level is so cool. And don't get me started on (500) Days of Summer. That movie is like THE movie that I cannot wait to watch. I sincerely hope we see it in Manila soon and that I will not have to resort to downloading it off the net. You do what you have to do, yeah?

respite for the weary
The last weekend was definitely a completely different from my last week of late nights, intoxication and wholesome fun. I spent the majority of the three days at home, save for a busy Friday (Thank you Rizal for the extra day off) where I renewed my license, went to the bank, had a haircut and attended the 2nd day of the CLP of SFC.
Saturday was more sleeping and surfing the internet, save for a well-deserved break for light football and dinner with the team. I cannot wait to play in the last weekend of eliminations for the Republic Cup. I am sincerely excited to kick the ball around with some of the top non-professional players in the country.
Happy Father's Day (belated, I know) to all the dads out there. To my dad in particular, thanks for totally taking care of me and giving a great role model for future reference. I hope I can be just as good as dad in the future, you know?
I cannot say this enough. TRANSFORMERS 2: RISE OF THE FALLEN in one effin' week. IMAX baby! 42 giant robots duking it out on the big screen. I cannot tell you how crazy-ass excited I am. This is THE movie of the summer for me.
Incidentally G.I. Joe is looking pretty darn good too. But it won't top Transformers 2.
Dear Tucker Max,
You are a god. I know I'll never party as hard as you, but you are still and will always be a role model for the crazy ass stuff I can only dream about doing. Live long and prosper.
Love,
Tim

kaskade was epic
I'm still slowly recovering what must have been one of the parties I've been to in recent memory. As my good friend put it, the night was epic. Kaskade was definitely kicking it to a different level and the music was better than I imagined it to be. Just the right buzz, awesome people and sensational music equals one helluva party. Thanks to all the people I met, drank with, danced and talked to last Saturday. Let's do it again soon.
And if any of you haven't gotten a copy, be sure to grab Kaskade's Strobelite Seduction. His latest album is definitely one of the msot played albums on my iPod and its great to just chill to.
Can't wait to catch Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen next week at the IMAX theatre at the Mall of Asia. It costs a great deal to watch that movie in the only IMAX theatre in the Philippines, but I'm sure watching it on giant 6-storey screen is going to be EPIC. Total geek overload. I totally drooled during the first movie so I can only imagine how this one is going to totally blow my mind. I know the cliche about sequels, but I'm still confident that this movie will be good. Giant robots out of my childhood and Megan Fox. How can you go wrong?

i would like to have an engagement please
Just finished watching Season 1 of the Dollhouse and it was awesome. Sure, they cleaned the ending up fairly well, in true Joss Whedon fashion, but it ended with a bang. I watched a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer back in the day, and although Dollhouse definitely has more suspense, gore and mature material, its got the basic Joss Whedon signs. And as always the fantastic Eliza Dushku is in the awesome show.
The premise of the show is there is a secret, underground high-end prostitution house that uses people with no memories called dolls. They are imprinted with whatever personality or character the client wishes and is then sent on engagements. It goes all awry as FBI, police and rogue dolls attempt to rock the boat. It is CRAZY. And it helps that you've got, like I said, Elizha Dushku. I love that Amy Acker is in this show too, although since she's kind of carved up, you can't really enjoy her natural grace and beauty. Nontheless, its an intersting premise that has kept me glued to my seat.
I think a lot of people will love the show for the story and suspense. I thought it might be fun to see what Whedon had cooked up and I was definitely not disappointed. I just hoope it doesn't go downt he road of Heroes, a show that I loved for one season but suddenly decided was getting a bit off-track.

music download for the long weekend
I'm going to try and download some new music for the weekend, specifically There for Tomorrow and The Friday Night Boys. The former I'm listening to right now on MySpace (home of the best music from the mainstream, the indie to the amateur). Sounds pretty good so far, my kind of alternative rock. My review to come in the next weeks. Until then, might I recommend one of my favorite albums of 2009, Shhhh... Just go With it by Every Avenue.
This powerpop / alternative rock band from Michigan was something I discovered from a friend of mine early this year and it has definitely been THE best album I've been listening to. The album came out a few years back but it doesn't matter because I'm pretty sure it hasn't been played in the Philippines yet. The music and lyrics are great, emo without being overly dark and dramatic. I love the mix of fast punk songs to the slow and steady rock ballads. I can't think of a favorite, but probably the most notable song on the album was "Between You and I", which caught my ear the moment I heard it. But don't get me wrong, each song is a classic waiting to happen and its nice to get albums where the band puts in a ton of effort on each track.
I cannot wait for their next full length album, which I hope will be a lot of the same,
My interns are growing up! hahaha. Their last day and final presentation is tomorrow and obviously as doting stage-mentor/father, I can't wait for my intern to kick ass. And I'm pretty sure the other intern in my department will do just as well.
Kaskade this weekend. I hope nothing crazy happens to me, as I don't want to wake up drunk and out of my wits. I will not stay late no matter what happens. (RIGHT.)
If you're there, see you! If not, then too bad. You should be there.
